“A little educated did this.

“A LITTLE EDUCATED DID THIS. WHAT WILL YOU- THE SURPLUS EDUCATED- DO?

Did you know that even today rural women use unhygienic rugged clothes, sand, ashes, leaves and newspaper during their period days in India only and only because they cannot afford to buy sanitary napkins!

Did you ever dare to question your elders regarding the secrecy that is maintained even today in Indian households on the topic of menstruation? Why such secrecy about a thing that half the population goes through every month? Why is talking about periods such a taboo? Why is there a need to hide our sanitary napkins or flinch when a Whisper or Stayfree advertisement flashes on the television?

This is not just a video about the achievement of a hardly educated, below poverty line, ninth-grade dropout from a small village in South India who was awarded “The Best Invention for the Betterment of Society”. It is much bigger than that for it touches an extremely important issue which has been consistently suppressed over decades in ‘Incredible India’– Women on their period days!

A must watch !
